Tonight's web conference went very well. I enjoyed listening to Dr. Abernathy and hearing some of her background. She kept reminding us that they, the professors, were not here to fail us or to "get us" but instead, to help us and support us and watch us succeed. This made me feel tons better. I often look way into things, am very critical, and re-do work over and over because I am fearful of getting a bad grade. Even after following a rubric, I can over analyze my work . Hearing Dr. Abernathy say that this is not how the professors grade made me relax a lot more.
I also found it very useful to hear which video editing software programs others chose to use. A lot of them chose the same one as I did. It was also interesting to hear how to use LAME because this was something I was having difficulty with but finally was able to convert my extensions with LAME so I could set up my podcast on a public site.
Another great tip tonight was learning that YouTube does not post podcasts. That free, public site is for videos only. I am glad others brought this up because YouTube would have been the first program I tried to upload with and this saved me from extra frustration and saved some time.
Overall, I enjoyed this webconference and learend a lot!

Tonight’s web conference went wonderfully! I felt as if the questions were much more relevant and people were more prepared as to how to log in, proper questions to ask (ones that you couldn’t just go read in the syllabus), and it was short and sweet.
I learned a lot of pleasing information regarding the internship and the amount of hours spent in the classroom and the amount of hours spent doing write ups. I am also pleased that I can go tell my mentor more of her role, which is not as demanding as I thought, and this may make her life a little more stress free knowing that some months she can use me to help her with a project and some months she doesn’t have to use me.
Mary was extremely helpful and I can tell she is very tech savvy and I enjoyed her assistance to Mike and others because she was very to the point and knew exactly how to guide us and others through various tasks.
Overall, tonight’s web conference was enjoyable, informative, and made me feel more relaxed and knowledgeable as to what I am doing in this course and a lot of gaps were filled. :o)

Last night's web conference went a lot more smoothly! I liked that our professor muted our microphones because I could hear much more clearly without all the back feed. I love being able to put faces to names and feel the web conferences are a great learning experience for us all.
I do feel like many people did not read the to do lists for week 1 and or week 2. Fellow students asked a lot of questions that they could have answered themselves by just reading the syllabus and or the "to do" lists. We have to take control in our own learning and be hands on which means doing the work and reading all the resources made available to us.
I look forward to more conferences to get to know my professors and fellow students better. Thanks Professor Borel for all the great information you gave us last night.
